The following products have been used by us and our customers. Please feel free to experiment with your favorite products and let us know what works for you!
• KCY Weft Sealer
• Moisture Rich Conditioner such as Dove or Pantene
• Argan Oil Serum
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="General Care"]
We don’t recommend excessive washing of any of our My Straight hair textures.
As a result, limit the use of hairspray and other hair care products to avoid product build-up. To further protect your extensions, we recommend the following guidelines:
• Minimize heat use and ALWAYS use a heat protectant when heat styling.
• Seal wefts with weft sealant to reduce shedding.
• Never cut or sew through the weft.
• To extend your hair’s longevity, install extensions on a U-Part or lace front wig.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Recommended Styling Steps"]
• Detangle
• Co-Wash (Using Only a Moisture-rich Conditioner)
• Air Dry (or Blow Dry Using the Lowest Heat Setting)
• Style with Minimal Heat
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Detangling"]
Detangle hair while dry using your fingers followed by a wide-tooth comb. Use a paddle brush to smooth hair and style as desired.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Washing"]
Co-washing with a moisture-rich conditioner is strongly recommended. Frequently washing your ‘My Straight’ hair with shampoo will strip your extensions of moisture and cause them to dry out faster. Should you feel the need to wash your hair due to product build-up, use a clarifying shampoo and follow these steps: detangle, lather hair with shampoo, wash your hair in a downwards motion and avoid excessively rubbing the hair together to minimize tangling. Then, rinse thoroughly.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Conditioning"]
Once hair has been thoroughly rinsed, apply a generous amount of moisture-rich conditioner and use a wide tooth comb to distribute throughout the hair. Rinse thoroughly.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Deep Conditioning"]
We recommend deep conditioning your hair extensions every 2-3 weeks.
Always apply deep conditioner after washing with a clarifying shampoo and rinse with cold water.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Styling"]
Use a moisturizing leave-in conditioner and/or a nickel size amount of argan oil on damp hair.
We strongly recommend allowing the hair to air dry undisturbed, however, if that is not possible, use a hair dryer on low heat with a heat protectant. If you feel that the hair is dry, use argan oil. Style as desired.
To prevent product build-up, avoid using heavy/too much product.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Curling"]
Our textures were designed to be worn as you receive them. However, the texture holds curls best with a combination of heat and non-heat methods including flexible rods and curl wands.
To curl with flexirods: style on dry or wet hair, add argan oil, flexirod to style.
To curl with a curl wand: use heat protectant and curl to desired style.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Using Heat"]
You may blow dry, curl or straighten your extensions, however, please keep in mind that just like your own hair, excessive and/or frequent use of heat will dry out and/or damage your hair. Minimizing the use of heat will increase the longevity of your My Straight extensions.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Dyeing Hair"]
KinkyCurlyYaki extensions will arrive in their natural black/brown hair colour and can be dyed any color you’d like. However, we strongly recommend consulting a professional hair stylist before dyeing or colour-treating your hair.

[accordion-item title="General Care"]
Just like our own hair, curly hair will tangle from time to time. However, tangles are easily smoothed with a light spritz of water and leave-in conditioner and the use of a wide-tooth comb or Denman brush.
To further protect your extensions, we recommend the following guidelines:
• Never sleep with your hair wet.
• Minimize heat use. Excessive heat styling can alter your curl pattern over time.
• Seal wefts with a weft sealant to reduce shedding.
• After swimming, use a clarifying shampoo and conditioner immediately. Minimize exposure to salt water or chlorine.
• To extend your hair’s longevity, install extensions on a U-Part of full Lace wig.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Recommended Styling Steps"]
• Detangle
• Co-Wash (Using Only a Moisture-rich Conditioner)
• Define Curls with a Denman Brush
•Air Dry Untouched (or Blow Dry Using a Diffuser Attachment on the Lowest Heat Setting)
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Detangling"]
Wet hair thoroughly and use your fingers to gently detangle hair while soaking wet.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Co-washing"]
Co-washing with a moisture-rich conditioner is strongly recommended.
Use a generous amount of conditioner and distribute the product throughout your hair in a downward motion using your fingers.
Then, using a Denman brush, brush conditioner through hair starting from the ends and working your way up. This will help to define the curls.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Co-washing with SEW IN"]
Twist or braid hair into 4 to 6 braids to significantly reduce tangling.
Use a generous amount of a moisture-rich conditioner and distribute evenly through the hair. After thoroughly rinsing out the conditioner, undo twists or braids and allow to air dry.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Rinsing"]
Run water through hair in a downward motion using your fingers to help the remove the conditioner. Curls should slip through your fingers. If you still have tangles, repeat the conditioner step in the tangled area.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Defining Curls"]
Using the recommended amount of a curl definer or curl lotion of your choice, distribute the product through the hair with your hands followed by the Denman brush. Allow the hair to air dry.
For best results, do NOT disturb the curls!
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Drying/Plopping"]
Always air dry when possible. When air drying is not feasible, use a diffuser attachment on your hair dyer with the heat at the lowest possible setting. Too much heat will loosen the curls.
If the hair is on a u-part cap, place the wig flat to plop curls for 1 hour. Then, hang the wig on a mannequin head to dry.
If the hair is sewn in, pile the hair on top of your head like a pineapple, wrap it in a cotton shirt, and allow it dry for approximately 90 minutes.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Daily Care"]
Lightly spritz hair with conditioner/water mix. Detangle with fingers if necessary.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Going to Bed"]
Use the pineapple method to secure hair.
Pineapple Method: bend forward, gather hair gently. and secure with a scrunchie into a LOOSE ponytail - not too tight or the scrunchie will leave a dent.
Do NOT sleep in wet hair. This will cause matting
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Using Heat"]
You may blow dry, curl or straighten your extensions, however, please keep in mind that just like your own hair, excessive and/or frequent use of heat will dry out and/or damage your hair and may permanently alter your hair’s curl pattern.
Minimizing the use of heat will increase the longevity of your My Curls and My Coils extensions.
[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title="Dyeing Hair"]
